Genoa Aquarium: Tickets, Time and Is It Worth It?
Updated October 26, 2026 · 5 min read
Allow at least two and a half hours and reserve your entry time before you go. The Genoa Aquarium entry ticket costs €33 on GetYourGuide and has 4.5 stars from 10,927 reviews. It is the most-reviewed experience in Genoa by a wide margin. The aquarium’s own guidance gives an average visit of about 2.5 hours and says there is no maximum stay, so the ticket works best as a half-day plan rather than a quick stop.
Which ticket makes sense?
| Ticket | From | Rating | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aquarium entry | €33 | 4.5 (10,927) | A first visit focused on the aquarium |
| Aquarium and lighthouse | €35 | 4.3 (393) | Adding a harbour viewpoint |
| Aquarium and Children’s City | €41 | 4.4 (275) | Families wanting a longer indoor day |
| Aquarium and Columbus House | €34 | 4.4 (296) | Pairing marine life with a small historic sight |
The €33 ticket is the cleanest choice if the aquarium is the reason for your visit. The combinations are not automatically better: each adds another stop and makes the day more structured. Check what is open and included on your date before choosing one.
Fixed entry time matters
The aquarium requires a reserved date and time slot. Its official sales conditions say admission prices can vary by season, time slot and other factors. A fixed-date ticket ties you to the selected slot; the aquarium also offers a more flexible product through its own sales system. Compare the cancellation and change conditions on the booking page rather than assuming all tickets behave alike.
Once inside, there is no maximum visit duration. You cannot leave and re-enter, and food and drink are not allowed along the exhibition route. Plan your meal before or after the visit in Porto Antico.
Is it worth it?
It is worth it for families, rainy days and anyone who genuinely wants a substantial aquarium rather than another palace or church. It is less convincing if you have only one day in Genoa and prefer architecture: the old town and Via Garibaldi can fill that day without an admission ticket. Crowds also change the experience; an early slot is usually easier for looking into popular tanks without waiting behind groups.
Our recommendation
For most first-time visitors, book the standard aquarium ticket and keep the rest of the half-day free. Choose a combination only when the second attraction is already on your list. Do not buy a bundle simply because the headline saving looks attractive: time, not the extra few euros, is the real cost.
